Question: How do you make a client cry? Answer: You recognize what they care about and express it with the conviction it deserves.
Each year, the good folks at Be The Match hold a series of galas to fund their mission of saving lives through bone marrow transplants. To tie all the events together, we developed concepts to be executed through PR, signage, and decor. The theme had to stand out among competitors, persuade people to attend, and inspire them to donate. The following pitch did, indeed, make the client cry (happy tears, of course).
Concept Statement
A match. The moment where a patient finds a donor. The first time that distant dreams become real possibilities. The long-awaited turning point where lives trodden with grief burst into beautiful stories of hope, happiness, and vibrance. With that fire burning in our bellies, we’ll celebrate each match made and passionately pursue all the ones ahead. Catalyze a better future with three gorgeous and magnetic evenings all focused on the match.
Concept Statement
Somehow, in the toughest circumstances, life finds a way. Just like flowers grow out of sidewalk cracks, hope grows even in the face of illness. And it’s beautiful. But it needs care and cultivation. By leaning against each other, we’ll nourish the quiet voice in all of our minds that whispers, “We can get through this.” During three elegant events, the persistence of life and the power of partnership will blossom in full color.

Do you believe deep in your soul that hope can change lives? Do you love not just the people who hold your heart, but the strangers who need it to help them beat the odds? And do you have the courage to take action when things aren’t the way they should be? Then you belong in the Be The Match family. Because we, the hopeful, know that this fight against blood diseases is winnable. Meet the mission, see the saved, fight for the ones who still need saving—and show that you, too, are the HLA Type.
